From Mozart to Green

This one-night-only performance features two contrasting clarinet concertos. Artistic Director Matthew Aubin takes the podium for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s luminous Clarinet Concerto, featuring soloist Christine Todd. TCS Conducting Fellow Valentina Paolucci and bass clarinetist Christa Somers share the stage for Geraldine Green’s jovial Bass Clarinet Concerto. Artistic Director Mark Seto leads the orchestra in a sparkling Romantic gem, Louise Farrenc’s Third Symphony.

Clarinetist Christine Todd began performing with The Chelsea Symphony in 2008. A CPA, Christine holds an MBA from Columbia University and BA/BS degrees in German and accounting from Binghamton University. A leader in the 21st century orchestral landscape, Dr. Matthew Aubin is constantly reaching new audiences through innovative performance formats and creative initiatives both on and off the podium.

Mark Seto leads a wide-ranging musical life as a conductor, scholar, teacher, and violinist. He is Artistic Director and Conductor of The Chelsea Symphony in New York City, and Senior Lecturer in Music at Brown University, where he directs the Brown University Orchestra and teaches courses in music history, theory, and conducting. Recent highlights include performances with violinist Itzhak Perlman, violinist Randall Goosby, and clarinetist Anthony McGill, and the inauguration of The Lindemann Performing Arts Center at Brown University.
